We were talking in our MOH class last Sunday about the need to stay connected with each other throughout the week. And somehow, like He always does, God planted this small seed of an idea (blog!) into our conversation that began to grow. Well, it's still growing... and here's our first attempt at a dedicated MOH blog. This dropped into my lap (via email, thanks Mike!) on Monday and I couldn't think of a better chunk of scripture to start this off with. So here goes! Simply read this passage and share your thoughts (about the passage itself, about other people's comments, whatever...). You do not have to be in the MOH class to participate. Please, join in and feel free to give me some feedback on this idea. Thanks for being here! Neil
Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)
24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Share your thoughts. If you are signed in with a Google account, clicking on the blog's title above (be an encouragement) should unveil all the posts and give you an editing box to provide a post of your own. Take a step of faith - give it a try!
Nice work Neil...now get busy and make me one for the store and my brides! Crys Gray
ReplyDeleteHebrews 10:25 speaks directly to what Men of Honor is, by God's Grace, becoming. Numerous of us are meeting together regularly. Now let us step out in faith and vulnerability and become intentional about encouraging one another. Join The Adventure, encourage someone today! Better yet, ask someone how you may help or encourage them.
ReplyDeleteI thnk the first thing I will do is email this blog to my father and brothers and hopefully inspire them.
ReplyDeleteThe Day IS approaching! I want to live like I believe that. Thanks Neil, MOH SG & LT for coming up with the great way to help!
ReplyDeleteStaying connected throughout the week is perhaps our greatest struggle. Hopefully this takes off and can become a source of encouragement for all of us.
ReplyDeleteHeartlight Verse of the Day -
ReplyDeleteVERSE:
Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Psalm 37:1-2
THOUGHT:
Frustration and envy... hmmm, isn't that our reaction to those who are evil and yet seem to prosper? We're reminded to not let the apparent and short-lived successes of evil people derail our faith or dampen our spirits. Their victories are temporary, their wealth is like a flower that will wilt, and their lives are like the grass which withers and is soon gone.
PRAYER:
LORD God Almighty, praise your holy and matchless name. You have blessed me mightily. You have protected me in the face of my enemies. You have given me life and hope and future with you. Now please, dear Father, help me to avoid wasting my time worrying about what others have. Please give me a heart of thanksgiving for, and contentment with, all that you have done to bless me. In Jesus'
name I pray. Amen.

This is deffiantley a challenge especially when you feel you are growing spiritually and you see someone who is not of the faith grow in success. The one thing that helps me out is I keep a note on my computer that says: "God's timing is perfect, not yours". I feel like it helps ground me because it reminds me that God has everything I need planned out WHEN I need it not when I want it.

ReplyDeleteVERSE:
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
-- Romans 8:1-2
http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=Romans+8:1-2
THOUGHT:
The law of Spirit and life is a great liberator! We are set free from the law of sin and death. Death has no mastery over us because of Jesus' resurrection. Sin has no claim on us because Jesus on the Cross paid off our debt to sin. We stand before God as his righteous children, free at last because of the work of our mighty Lord Jesus Christ. There is no condemnation in our future, only glory!
PRAYER:
Thank you, Almighty God, for your plan to pay my ransom and to liberate me from sin and death. Thank you for the confidence I have because of your incomparable grace given to me through Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.
